will operate some other characters when their GM movement cover is blown.
You are Frederico
Parmigiani Comondante dei Fratelli Anarchico head of a small band currently
hiding in the forested English Weald. You are dependant for supplies on the
organisation of The Prof (Il Professore). Having rescued you from enemies in
Italy he set you to guard his secret Palazzo at Paradys Hall. Unfortunately the
Profs enemy the detective Sherlock Holmes, organised a massive raid on the Hall
and you had to flee. The Profs organisation has kept you and your six followers
hidden and fed ever since. The Amante of Guilio, Edna Atkins has been allowed to
join as she is useful for washing and cooking. Now Il Professore is demanding
that you repay some of his generosity by performing a service for him. You were
to assist in depositing clothing and weapon caches in designated places near to
Sladewood Prison which you have done. This is part of a scheme where many
prisoners are to escape with a view to the most desperate being able to be
recruited to the organisation. These are to head for a small ruined building in
the Arcadia Wood, an outlier of the Ashdown forest. This is codenamed Olympus.
Much blood will be spilt by those escaping from the prison so the authorities
will be liable to shoot first. So the Profs orders are for you and the
prisoners to shoot anyone trying to stop them. There are people in the Elysia
Lodge House, hostile to the police but best not to trust them too much. One
exception is their washerwoman Lucy (Lucia Umbri). The Mafia killed her Amante
Toni a waiter at the Ristorante Tivoli in Soho and police tried to arrest her as
an accomplice. She knocked one out with a chair and escaped, with the
organisation finding her position at Arcadia Lodge. In the morning she will be
wheeling a pram loaded with grenades and pistols up and down the Wych Cross to
Sharpthorne Road. This runs through the middle of the wood and she is to arm
prisoners and point them the way to Olympus. Luigi (Who speaks some English)
with Rudolfo will also patrol it looking to guide the escapees. It is expected
that the Warders and police will send patrols to it! You with Ernesto will wait
at Olympus guarding it until at least four prisoners have arrived to guide to
the Ashdown Forest. This, to the south of Arcadia Wood is dense enough to hide a
thousand prisoners and you have your camp there. (Reaching the south edge of the
table means safe.)
The selected prisoners and
all helpers in the organisation are to wear sprigs of yellow broom in their
buttonholes. The password is Eos to be answered by Aurora. In the wood is
also a gypsy witch Zingara and supporters who will also direct escapees to
Olympus. They will have a first aid kit for emergencies. Lucia Umbri will
eventually patrol up and down the road pushing her pram carrying a first aid
kit, two revolvers and six grenades. She claims that she can throw grenades! She
is there to point any fugitives in the right direction.
It is a dry day, sunny with cloudy intervals.
Movement on the paths and track are at normal rate, minus two inches for furtive
or searching rates. Movement through the overgrown woodlands is at half plus 1
rate, with minus two inches for furtive or searching moves. D6 for move
Lucia Umbri emerges from the Lodge GM to move.
